Description

Three Pump Stations

Division

ASAP Installations

Challenge

Provide shoring without bracing and limiting the vibration output due to the proximity of houses.

Solution

Designed, furnished, installed and removed three sheet piling coffercells. Excavation depths ranged from 20’ to 21’. Pump Station work was performed on the wet, which allowed the first two coffercells to be design with heavy sections as a cantilever. This feat reduced substantially the installation duration, thus creating cost savings for the project. The last coffercell required bracing due to portraying softer soil in that specific location. ASAP High Frequency Variable Moment Hammer allowed installation and removal to be performed at all times without exceeding the vibration output threshold.
